An annual award

Each year, the Jim Bettison and Helen James Foundation will set the selection process in motion for the Bettison and James Award. The Adelaide Film Festival administers the Award on behalf of the Foundation, and will normally open the callout for nominations towards the end of each year, in preparation for selection of the following year’s Awardee.

The Foundation will, on occasion, make the nomination and selection of an Award recipient without a callout. Eligible individuals may be nominated by a third party. At the Foundation’s discretion, an eligible individual may be invited to nominate.
