The Jim Bettison and Helen James Foundation was established through the estates of the late Jim Bettison and Helen James. Their wish was to establish an award in recognition of an individual’s lifetime work of significant benefit to the community. Presented by the Foundation on an annual basis, the Award provides the beneficiary with the possibility for extending, recording or disseminating aspects of their lifelong work.

The Foundation was established and is governed by The Jim Bettison and Helen James Foundation Advisory Committee comprising Simone Vinall, Geoff Purdie and Doreen Mellor (Spokesperson).

The Adelaide Film Festival administers the Award for the Jim Bettison and Helen James Foundation in consultation with the Foundation.

Perpetual acts as Trustee for the Jim Bettison and Helen James Foundation.
